A Simple Guide to the Best Foods for Labor
When you're packing your birth bag, it's easy to focus on baby clothes and postpartum essentials. But don't forget about food! Labor is hard work, and your body needs fuel. Having nourishing, easy-to-eat snacks on hand can help keep your energy up throughout labor.
I created this simple graphic with some of my favorite foods to pack. These snacks are great for hospital births, birth center births, or home births. They're easy to bring, nutrient-dense, and gentle on the stomach.
The goal isn't to pack the "perfect" snacks. Choose foods that you enjoy, that sit well with your body, and that provide lasting energy.
I hope this graphic gives you a few ideas as you prepare for birth!
If you're looking for more personalized guidance, I'd love to support you through pregnancy and birth. We can prepare for labor together so you feel ready for the journey ahead.
The first 40 days after birth are also worth planning for. They are a time for healing and recovery, and nourishment becomes just as important for the mother as for the baby. You can read more about my First 40 Days postpartum recovery package and we can make sure you’re supported from the first positive pregnancy test through the fourth trimester.
Encouragement for Your Birth
